If you are trying to sell your home you are probably considering making some small and simple home improvements to make the home more appealing to the buyers as well as to increase the value of the home.  Believe it or not there are many upgrades that can be done that are smart and will not break the bank to complete them.  You will find many of these easy to dos below.

Think About Curb Appeal

The curb appeal of your home is the first thing that any potential buyer of your home is going to notice first and let’s face it first impressions mean everything.  Often times a buyer will make the decision of whether or not they are interested in the home when they pull up in the driveway.  There are many easy fixes that will help you to increase the curb appeal of your home.  For example, you could install what the folks at Hustad roofing call “architectural shingles.” These offer far more curb appeal than traditional asphalt shingles. Additionally, it is important that you keep the walkway to the home swept and cleaned up.  You should also improve the landscaping with shrubs and plants and keep the hedges trimmed.  Even a newly painted front door and mailbox can make a world of difference.

Fix Up The Bathroom

And finally a neutral paint color will go a long way to impressing people.  You might like a bright red kitchen but other people may like more of a neutral color.

Replace Old Light Fixtures

If you have some older light fixtures throughout the home you might want to think about replacing them.  This is an update that is necessary but will not cost you a small fortune to complete.  Also by increasing the wattage in your light bulbs you will allow for more light to be in the room and will make the room seem larger and more open.  The larger the home feels the better it will appeal to the buyers.
